CONTEXT
Administrative/Biographical history:
The 11th century church of Saint Mary Woolchurch Haw stood on the site now occupied by Mansion House. Antiquarian John Stow noted that wool was weighed in the churchyard. The church escaped serious damage during the Great Fire of London, 1666, but it was demolished for building materials and the parish united to Saint Mary Woolnoth.

Scope and content/abstract:
The main archive of St Mary Woolchurch Haw dates from the 16th century with parish registers (baptisms, marriages, burials, banns) from 1558; vestry minutes from 1647; Churchwardens' accounts; Overseers' payments; papers relating to poor relief; and church rate, tithe rate and poor rate assessments from 1671.
