CONTEXT

Administrative/Biographical history:

Os Marron was a Lancashire poet (d1947). He was the son of a miner and cotton worker and one of a small number of working class poets writing in the 1940s. He died of tubercolosis.

Alex Comfort (1920-2000) was a gerontologist and author.

Letters to Alex Comfort from Margaret Marron, dated 19 October 1946, and Os Marron, dated 17 October 1945 and 5 January 1946; poems by Os Marron, some typescript and some printed, dating from the 1940s.
