CONTEXT
Administrative/Biographical history:
Wandsworth Technical Institute opened on Wandsworth High Street in 1895. New buildings were built for the Institute in the High Street in 1926. The Institute merged with the Putney College of Further Education in 1974. It is now known as South Thames College.
CONTENT
Scope and content/abstract:
The collection consists of correspondence and other papers concerned with the setting up and running of Wandsworth Technical Institute and the associated Secondary School. The papers were compiled by C.T. Davis in his role as Honorary Secretary of the Institute. The collection also includes a volume of minutes from the Technical Education Board Committee 1894-1896, as well as prospectuses, magazines and a programme.
