An Essay on the motions of the iris, and the power of adapting the eye to objects at different distances illustrated by a few pen-drawn diagrams. Pasted on the verso of the first end-paper of Vol. I is a small label 'Bound by J. McLaren, Glasgow.'

Physical characteristics:

2 vols. 4to. 24 x 20 cm. Original panelled morocco-gilt binding. The MS. is carefully written, on rectos only, and has been apparently prepared for the press. There are a few notes in pencil by another hand.
