Edmund W Richardson edited "The Picture Postcard", a magazine published in London 1900-1907.

Content

Scope and content/abstract:

Picture postcards and some postcard sized illustrations, 1806-1946 (mainly 1898-1914). Most of them depict Russian scenes and people but there are also cards from Estonia, Finland and Britain. Some of the cards had been sent to Edmund W Richardson as editor of "The Picture Postcard". Relatively few however have been used and sent through the post. Subjects include Russian peasants and farming scenes, 1901; Russian military forces, 1905; Anti-Bolshevik propaganda postcards c 1918; Russian cities, Kiev, St Petersburg, Yaroslav and Streln, 1898-1909; street scenes in Moscow and Petrograd after the Revolutions of 1905 and 1917; Kiev, 1946
